“Thanksgiving is more than eating, Chuck.” – Marcie

We have to admit, Marcie said it best in Charles M. Schulz’s 1973 cartoon short “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving.” This time of year is not just about the feast we’ll all sit down to in just a few days’ time. It’s about giving thanks for being together. At McGrath/Power, we have a lot to be thankful for, so we came together to voice our gratitude.

“I am thankful to work with a great team of people and make a difference to our clients’ businesses.” – Jonathan Bloom

“I am thankful for the entire McGrath/Power family, including my colleagues and our wonderful client roster.” – Kate Walker

“It’s not every day that you get treated like part of the team. Sometimes you get viewed as just being “the vendor” and it can make you feel like just an order-taker – not very gratifying. This year, we saw our clients treat us a part of their teams on numerous occasions. This not only makes the work that much more enjoyable, but also much more rewarding when we work side-by-side towards accomplishing our shared goals.” – Derek James

“At McGrath/Power, we believe building relationships is just as important as providing quality service. As the director of finance, I am thankful that I get the opportunity to engage with all our clients and assist them with the financial side of their account because it allows me to help create the foundation for our new relationships as well as continue to nurture existing ones.” – Patti Murphy

“I’m so thankful to be part of a team helping some amazing individuals and businesses share their stories creatively and effectively so that their messages can be heard. Our clients put their trust in us and view us as an extension to their business. These trusting relationships make it all the more rewarding when we achieve the big results and generate awareness and attention on their behalf.” – Nadia Jamshidi

I’m thankful for the amazing people I get to work with every day, and for the many opportunities to expand and improve my skills. Every day is different, with new challenges and opportunities. That combination – people and varied opportunities – is the main reason I love my work. – Sara Eisenberg

“I’m grateful for the opportunity to work closely with all of our clients to push the envelope in the areas of social media and online marketing. I’m not only thankful for the chance to present them with new ways of thinking, new approaches, new channels and tools to get their story in front of online audiences but am even more thankful when they enthusiastically agree to take that leap with us. There have been a lot of unknowns in the online world since social media gained steam in the late ‘00s. Brands are still feeling their way around, but it’s always rewarding when a client puts their trust in our expertise and we can turn that trust into results.” – Rory Schaff

“I am truly thankful for our clients that view us as partners and turn to us for guidance. Nothing feels better than when a client tells you that your counsel and work has become indispensable. A career in PR offers the most incredible opportunities and challenges, but even the most challenging moments quickly transform into opportunities for greatness when you have the right people on your team. Each and every day in the world of PR is different as markets evolve and new forms of digital media emerge, but this makes it all the more exciting, rewarding and fulfilling.” – Allyson Scott

“I am thankful for our clients because they keep me on my toes. Every day is different than the one before, making it impossible to be bored! Clients are constantly presenting new opportunities and challenges that force me to think strategically and outside of the box. Often we are faced with tough situations – both positive and negative – that give me an opportunity to expand our thinking and provide the best recommendations on how best to handle the situation at hand. This provides me with an environment to learn and grow professionally on a daily basis and provide my clients with the best strategic counsel for the situation.” – Marta Weissenborn

“I’ve gotten to know my clients quite a bit over the past year, and it’s been an absolute pleasure! I’m very thankful to have these wonderful people with great stories to tell in my life – it makes work a lot of fun. As a PR pro, my career is never stagnant. Every experience I have teaches me something new and makes me that much stronger. Learning more about who my clients are and the perspectives they have to share doesn’t just give me something to take to journalists and social channels; it offers exciting new challenges for personal development, and I’m thankful for the opportunities.” – Andi Bean

“This year, I’m thankful to have such a wide variety of clients spanning from security, to consumer photography products and payment technologies. Working with such a broad range of industries has allowed me expand my media relations skills and work with a wide range of journalists. I’m also grateful that this year, we have clients that make excellent partners on our work. It’s exceptionally rewarding to work with such appreciate and collaborative clients. Lastly, I feel very fortunate to be able to work on such diverse client programs that bring a lot of variety to each day at work and allow me to widen my skill set by working across every facet of my unique client programs.” – Lisette Rauwendaal

“What I’m thankful for are the strong bonds I’ve built with my clients. It’s the best feeling to work as a team to accomplish a shared vision of success. It’s exciting to see what can come to fruition when a team works collaboratively, with every person bringing something unique to the table. Working as a team to see a well-executed strategy develop from inception to completion is something I’m truly thankful for.” – Greg Bloom

“I am thankful for all of the interesting things that I learn working with my clients. Each client teaches me something different about advancements in technology and innovation, that I most likely would not have been so informed on if not for them. There is always something new and exciting around the corner, with client releases and announcements, and I enjoy being able to be a part of that excitement and be on the cusp of client advancement and growth. So, I am thankful to learn about all the awesome things our clients are doing and to pass on that knowledge through my work as an Account Coordinator at McGrath/Power.” – Katie Hyman

“I’m thankful that I am first point of contact to everyone who calls into the McGrath/Power offices. It’s my job to make sure when our clients call into our office, I am able to direct them to the proper team member or account manager. As an Operations Assistant here at McGrath/Power, I play a part in helping our office run smoothly on a daily basis. I am also very thankful I get to be the “Hostess with the Mostess” in setting up our client meetings and staff events. I want to extend a special Thank-You to our clients for allowing us the chance to serve you!” – Shelley Schoenrock

“As an intern I expect to be challenged and to learn every day. I am thankful for the opportunities I am given by our clients that allow me to do that and to grow as a professional, offering the chance to learn about a variety of industries while simultaneously experiencing the public relations and communications process.” – Ben Yoell
